Cross Country Team 2019
In 2019, in our middle yard 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes were learning playground games led by some of the students in our 4th classes. This is based on the Playworks program.
In our senior yard 4th, 5th and 6th classes have Ball Day each week. On the days they have PE they can bring PE equipment to the yard during break times. Also, we zoned other areas for skipping.
In October 2019, 6th class ran Halloween Active Stations for the 1st classes. There was Ghost Bowling, Spider Web Target Throwing, Trick or Treat Relay Race and an Obstacle Course.
Each class also took part in a 'Timewarp' dance activity.
We have been including physical activity at our Whole School Assemblies.
In February 2020, one of our 6th classes organised a fundraising day for their classmate, Adam, who was ill in hospital. We wore red and white, the colours of Japan, as Adam loves everything about Japan and its culture.
Being an Active School, they wanted to incorporate lots of fun physical activities. These included a penalty shoot out competition for the 3rd, 4th and 5th classes, a dodgeball competition between the two 6th classes and outdoor games for the 1st and 2nd classes.
At Christmas 2019, the whole school did the 'Twelve Days of Fitness' wearing our Santa hats and Christmas jumpers!
In December 2020, we used the outside space a lot more. We created an Active Advent Calendar.
Every day in December, across all our yards the classes counted down the days to Christmas by engaging in a number of activities with a Christmas twist.
We saw star jumps to the song 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas', Christmas tree poses, a Rudolph pose, Jingle Bells command and many more.
We had a lot of fun!
